I listened to them all on audiobook last year. i like the series, some of the later "Nate Romanowski" focused books get a little silly with the anti .gov nonsense with Romanowski running around murdering people and the silly subplot with the college student killed while "innocently shooting pidegons " on a dorm roof. I hate the federal government as much as anyone but geez talking about getting hit over head with a hammer.

Overall they are decent books and some are pretty good "outdoor adventure books" I think the better books in the series are the ones focused on Pickett in the wilderness

Paul Dorion's books are a pretty obvious attempt to cash in on the Joe Pickett/Walt Longmire type "cowboy detectives." But it's still a decent series about a Maine Game Wardon whose father is a notorious poacher, scoundrel, and general backwoods laborer/tough guy/petty criminal. I'd say from a writing standpoint Dorion's a better writer than Box, his character evolves more than Joe and has a bit more of a personal growth/conflict.
