Just letting you guys know this book is available for only $2 on Kindle. I've never read it but it's supposed to be very good.

An Austrian conscript, after qualifying as a machine gunner he was drafted to the southern sector of the Russian Front in July 1942. Russian snipers had used the illegal explosive bullet since 1941, and Hitler eventually authorised its issue in 1944. The result was a battlefield of horror.

UPDATE:
Ordered it on kindle and read it in two sittings. Very good book. Discussed it with my cousin who has written several books in use at the USA War College concerning  Operation Barbarossa, and Russian history before during and after the invasion. Was actually allowed to do research in the Russian Military archives before, and after the fall of the Berlin Wall. Says the book is a very faithful rendering of the ground war on the Eastern Front circa 1942-1945.

Well worth the 200 pennies.
