THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT Wayne Henry Cobb Jr passed away October 2nd, 2006. Wayne was a big part of the site for so many years and a big part of people's lives. The more friends he made, the more he wanted to touch their lives. Eventually this led him to do the infamous Hun Farm shoots on his property in north Texas and to serve on the board of Gunstock, which handled the AR15.Com National Gathering. He served as site staff for a short while, but felt awkward about it and requested to step down. He was always happier posting and arguing about one thing or another than watching over those he valued as friends. Wayne was someone I called regularly to chat with, his voice always soothing and inspiring and he always spoke from the heart. My trips to Dallas were never complete without meeting up with him to share a meal and drink. Wayne found the time to take care of his friends and did so with an amazing sense of humor and a heart bigger than Texas herself. He had a voice that was easily recognizable and at the same time unforgettable. He was quick to a joke and was able to brighten any room he walked into. I have a hard time thinking of my fondest memory of Wayne. Gunstock 2 we tended bar together mixing up a hybrid margarita that came from both of our personal recipes. Conversations about life and love when he had troubles at home were also cherished. I think being able to be there for him when he needed it is what I will cherish the most. He was always there for so many of us, that in the end our impact on his life was the most valuable gift we could have given. Every time I see a Gunstock shirt or see his trademark viking icon I can't help but think of him. He lived a great life and was always happy, even when sad. Before his passing, I know he had made his life whole again and had found a peace he was looking for. I am sure he is in heaven right now, looking down upon us all and wishing he could get into one more religious discussion. I try to avoid emotion and religion on this site, but when I think of Wayne I can't help but thank the Lord for allowing us the time we had with him. A friend, a brother, a miracle. He touched our lives and will be remembered for many years to come. Rest in peace Wayne and know that you are, and will be missed.

I can't add much to what Juan has already said. I had the pleasure and frustration of working with Wayne on the site. Pleasure because he was a great friend and resource when I needed advice regarding something here.
Frustrating because when he dug his heels in on something close to his heart he fought and argued like a pit bull..yet made you feel like a friend while he beat you into submission. ![]() I first met Wayne at Gunstock I and he was larger in life then he was on the site. Here he is arriving in Hun style at the range. ![]() Texas couldn't have had a greater ambassador then Wayne. When we left Waco for Dallas Wayne was giving directions on where to meet him to Wave who was in the car with my wife and I. As we got closer Wave said..I think I know where we are going..the Lodge. I wasn't allowed any further then the parking lot which is where this picture was taken. ![]() It is one of my most cherished pictures from Gunstock. Wayne and EricE are both in it. That night Wayne picked us up at the motel and gave is a quick tour of Dallas, taking us on the route JFK took when he was assassinated. His commentary was accompanied by Dark Side of the Moon playing in his truck. He was a huge Pink Floyd fan. We then went to his favorite French restaurant for supper. That was the last time I saw him. We'll meet again some day friend. At least he's with Scooter now. |

I never met him, nor even talked with him very much, but it's always sad when a member of the ARFCOM passes.

While I never had the opportunity to meet Wayne in person, we did exchange IMs and a phone call or two. He was a good man, a man among men, if you will. RIP Wayne Henry Cobb Jr. |

I met him once in Real Life, but knew him best by the posts on the board. The sign-off was always good.
I really don't think we will have another like him. Phil (Getting a little misty eyed) Traz ![]() |

RIP Wayne.
Met him once, in May 2006 at the Farm. I had a great time, and he was an awesome host, but most of all, he was a great person. I'm glad to have had the pleasure of meeting you, after reading your posts on here for some time. You brought out the best in every one, and believe it or not, you touched many lives. You are deeply missed, Wayne. |

I never met him, but his posts will always be remembered. I can recall countless hours spent in the college library taking lengthy breaks from writing papers to peruse ARFCOM. He brought a little light into my day and his posts helped to provide the little recovery time that allowed me to go back to writing again. I miss reading what he had to say.

Very cool guy. Never met him in person, but always enjoyed his posts. He had such a way with words, that I could enjoy his posts, even if I didn't agree with him.

ETH was a poster I always respected. He is one of the few that I can honestly say this place hasn't been the same without.

Never met him but his posts were always avidly read by myself, he was one of the posters that made this place what it is, his wit was at times cutting and caustic but when it was, it was for a good reason. He could make you both laugh and think at the same time.

I wish I would have had a chance to talk with him. It sounds like he was a fantastic human being. From reading old posts, it looks like he helped shape this site in a large way.

I miss his postings and jovial nature at the end of every post.
He was one of the best that AR15.com had to offer. |

"Oh good, Eric the Hun posted something in this thread, I wonder what he says...."
I remember thinking that many times. Really, he's about the only member I thought of like that. |
