I used to bust his balls for insisting that a peanut butter sandwich was the best side dish to eat with a bowl of chili.

I'm making both tonight (and washing it down with a bottle of Makers Mark) just for him.

Damn. I've heard heart attacks in younger people are more likely to be fatal. It's still shocking to hear someone of my generation dying of such, though.

Rest easy, fellow Kentuckian.

We just had a 26yo pass away here a couple weeks ago from a massive heart attack.

He was in relatively decent shape.

It really is a small world.

Here is Aaron's obituary.

http://obits.dignitymemorial.com/dignity-memorial/obituary.aspx?n=Aaron-Bevard&lc=6717&pid=174633840&mid=6402894

Aaron Samuel Bevard, 32, of the Owl Hollow Road in Mason County, passed away unexpectedly on April 13 2015 at his residence.

Aaron was born October 9 1982 in Maysville, the son of Samuel Lee Bevard and Ruvonna Bays Bevard. In addition to his parents, he leaves behind a brother, Seth Leigh Bevard, his grandmother Edith W. Bevard, a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins and a host of friends. He also leaves his dachshund, Valkyrie, who was his constant companion. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Samuel Burgess Bevard, and maternal grandparents William Bays and Elizabeth Donnelly Bays.

Aaron was a graduate of Lewis County High School and also attended Morehead State University and Maysville Community and Technical College. He was the founder and owner of the Iron Fist Gym in Maysville and took great pride that his efforts in founding the gym had opened opportunities in MMA competition, coaching, and the fitness industry to a number of persons. He was also proud of the reputation and success of the gym's Kraken Fight Team, which has garnered numerous medals in state and national grappling competitions as well as victories in amateur MMA venues, including a holder of three title belts. Aaron had also worked for the City of Maysville Public Works Department and as a residential care provider.

Aaron, as a member of the ARFCOM group, was well-known on the internet as a proponent of the Second Amendment and for his knowledge of firearms. He had shot competitively and liked to attend the Knob Creek Hometown Shoot. He was a lover of good firearms and cutlery. Aaron was a brave, stoic, and honest individual who was never afraid to make known his mind. He enjoyed filmmaking, movies, TV comedy and drama, reading, and comic books and was a perceptive critic of these.

He was a baptized member of the Bethany Christian Church.

Funeral services for Aaron Bevard will be held at the Barbour and Son Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 16, 2015 with Bro. Robert Kidd officiating. Burial will be in the Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 from 5 to 8 PM. Memorials may be made to the Bethany Cemetery Fund, 9197 Owl Hollow Road, Maysville, KY 41056.

One of my coworkers graduated high school with him. We were talking about him today. I never met him personally, just exchanged a few PM's when he found out I was local. He cared about this site so much it's even mentioned in his obituary. My condolences to his friends and family. He was very highly thought of in Maysville Kentucky.

[Last Edit: arfarf] [#50]
One of the coolest dudes I have met off arfcom. He regularly hosted KY training group shoots on his families property, including night shooting. He was a damn good and fast shot. I remember one time after a full day of running drills, shooting and sweating we were all sitting around just messing with our pocket pistols, trying super long range shots, etc. He rang a steel silhouette at 100 yards on the first shot with his little .380.  Later on that night he turned us on to a little restaurant right in downtown Maysville that had pictures of famous people eating there all over the wall. They had a tater-tot dish that supposedly he created and got on the menu. Had I not been at work today I would have made the drive out to Maysville one last time I really feel for his family. His father was a great guy as well, obviously where he got his generosity from. Everytime we would have a shoot his father would come and greet us and throw some rounds down range as well.
