Update: On Thursday, a benefit cookout at the Police Law Enforcement Association (PLEA) Garage Grill will raise funds for Det. Hobbs’ family and the second officer injured in the shooting. The Garage Grill is located at 1102 West Adams Street in Phoenix, and they’ll be serving hot dogs and hamburgers from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday. Carry-out boxes will be available for those who aren’t able to make it to the grill.

A community prayer vigil will be held on Friday at 5 p.m. near the scene of the shootout, in the Title Max Loan parking lot at 43rd Avenue and Bethany Home Road. The vigil will honor the fallen and injured officers and all are welcome to attend.

2nd Update-The other detective has been released from the hospital and is recovering at home. He's expected to make a full recovery

Update 3- The Phoenix Police Department announced Wednesday that funeral services for Detective John Hobbs, 43, will be Monday, March 10 at 10 a.m. at Christ's Church of the Valley located at 7007 W. Happy Valley Road in Peoria.

The burial will be following at Phoenix Memorial Park and Cemetery located at 200 W. Beardsley Road in Phoenix.

The visitation will be held Sunday, March 9 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Surprise Funeral Care located at 16063 W. Bell Road in Surprise.

Just read about it.  A corrections guy was shot and killed in his driveway getting in his car at 0400 this AM as well around 91st Ave and Lower Buckeye.

I would like to know more about the scum that perpetrate this crap.

I was looking for info on this. I was watching Megyn Kelly's show on FOX News and they had Daniel Faulkner's widow on as a guest.

She (Maureen Faulkner) mentioned that she heard that two Arizona Police officers were hurt while she was a guest in the studio.

That happened back in August 2013 but still tragic. The shooter was 15-16 iirc
