Damn

I always enjoyed reading her posts.  She had a way of making her point without going over the top.

Condolences to her family and friends.

I have forwarded the request to her daughter and will let you know what I hear back. And thank you.

Thank you. I'll be moved to Florida in a couple weeks. Not sure where but I'll happily drive to Tampa for whatever they need. I had hoped to meet you too but under much better circumstances.

I'll check in daily for IMs and let me know if you need my phone #. They can grab it off SN phone as well.

Thank you OATT for texting me and letting me know. I was looking forward to seeing her again.

I didn't know her, but she sounds like she was a very respectable woman.  She's in a better place now.

So sad. I always enjoyed her posts. She seemed like a genuinely good person.

Condolences and prayers for her family.

ps

I would like to make a suggestion, and it may not mean much to casual members here, but might to those that are regulars, or rather to their families that know they spend a good bit of time here, and that their fellowship with us is important to them.

Is it possible, that site staff could set up some sort of way that they could take the user names of the responders of a memorial thread and put them on a sympathy card that would be mailed to the address associated with the account of the person that passed away?

Just a thought.

It's a nice thought. I like it, but I guess staff would have to figure out those logistics with TC or something.

Some of you may recall Splint Nicket posting over the years. She took a break from the site for a while and came back a couple of years ago.

She and I started corresponding a year or so back after I responded to her about a post she'd made, and it became a regular exchange of messages and phone calls after a bit.

A few short  months ago she very rapidly lost the use of an arm and was subsequently diagnosed with cancer that had spread to her brain. After that she wasn't on the site much, both  because of the difficulty posting due to her mobility issues and the treatments were pretty wearing on her.

I have stayed in touch with her daughter and sister when calling and texting became an issue for her due to the disease and the treatment.

She overcame a lot in her personal life and leaves behind a teen aged daughter.

Some of you regulars had also been in contact with her during these recent hard times she's been having, and I thought you might want to know

Thank you for sharing.

I had no idea she was sick. I am deeply saddened by her death.

If her family is keeping tabs, I hope they will accept my sincere condolences.

She did not wish it to be known, she just had no way to explain it. If you recall her title it is "we're all gonna die". Just another thing I loved about her. Level headed . I know she wouldn't want people to mourn her. So here's to one of the best goddamned person I've had the pleasure of knowing. Hats off to you, m'lady!

Cheers to SN, trooper that she was!

RIP SplintNicket. Wish I'd known her better outside of that exchange.

You weren't alone in that respect.
Going to the beach near where she lived in FL was a favorite pasttime of hers and her daughters.
That and Disney World. She LOVED Disney World and would go several times a year.
Anyway, she would often mock me when the weather was bad in NYS with a cell phone pic of her legs in the sand by the ocean. It took months of communication before I got any pic of her other than those legs and toes in the ocean

Her favorite album. We used to be chatting along and we'd be throwing out a littany of whatever we were each listening to at the moment. This was her favorite album; she once said she pretty much wore the CD out on road trips with her daughter

That's the picture I referenced (I assume that's why you posted it). It makes me sad now.

Dammit all , that's just horrible . . . . and to be slowly eaten away  by cancer , dammit man.

My most sincere condolences to the friends and family she leaves behind . I always appreciated her straight-forward , no bullshit opinions on subjects . She was an off and on part of the Night Crew here and while she and I disagreed on a few things over the years , I had a lot of respect for her opinions .

So sad ......this site seems to be losing too many interesting and valuable members .

Rest softly woman , you will be sorely missed by many .
