I always enjoyed reading his posts, and he will be sorely missed. One or twice he would talk frankly about his cancer, and it was clear to me, though he'd never type it, that he was in pain at times and the cancer he had was very serious. For some reason, I think of Joshua Deets' epigraph in the novel Lonesome Dove. It was a fitting tribute for a Soldier and American. JOSH DEETS SERVED WITH ME 30 YEARS. FOUGHT IN 21 ENGAGEMENTS WITH THE COMMANCHE AND KIOWA. CHERFUL IN ALL WEATHERS, NEVER SHERKED A TASK. SPLENDID BEHAVIOUR I hope his family and friends know we will miss his companionship, his insight and hope that his memory will provide them comfort. |

It is like losing a brother. We spoke often. I met him IRL back in 05 at Wayne's farm (Hun Farm).
He loved beer. Good beer. Belgian beer. Drink one in his memory. |
