THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
Since being an EOTech kool-aide drinker from day one. I willo start with EOTech.

The latest USMC model with the subdue side marker.
Basically this is a 553 that utilize the AA batteries.
Same dummy cord for the battery compartment like the 553.

comparing the 553 on the left to the 555 in the center and the 555 on the right. the 556 is a 553 with thumbscrew.

top view of the 555 vs. the 553.

this is the new 556, basically a 557 with CR123 batteries.

side mounted IR and visible laser module.

this conclude the EOTech section, let's take a walk across the floor to Aimpoint booth.

I think most of you find enough data on line in regards to the Aimpoint products, so I used my time to catch up with my friends at Aimpoint. one interesting product improvement.

M4 with the side compartment moved to the lower part of the tube. something i believe is long overdue.

the ever popular Minidot...

Colt and SIG booth are the next round of pictures. Neither booth offered anything new so the pictures at these booth are min.

What grabbed my attention is this direct gas driven 1020 look alike. I thought the 1020 was not scheduled for production, but maybe they just brought one out for the shot show, but unbeknownst to me, they dropped a DI gas system into the monolithic platform of the 1020 and made a new offering.

SIG brought our the 556 in force, many varinat but most of those varient looked cheap in comparison to the airsoft 552 they had on one of the display. I am disappointed with the SIG practice of building the 556 with cheap parts, but with the ever sky raising prices of raw material, the SIG practice made some sense as to use less expensive part to build a gun that will land within the mid 1k mark so it can be affordable to more potential buyers. and this will also drive up the accessoies makret. Look at the market development on the M4 rifles.

For those keen eyeed members, you notice the folder?

Too bad, continue with the SIG practice, even the folder are made with those cheap plastic parts. notice the build in flip up rear sight, with the recess, it is difficult to deploy fast.

More shots of the stock folded

SIG rail panels...most are made in Iseral by CAA.

The folding front sight, not very inspiring.

A nicely set up SIG with rail system, Aimpoint and CTR stock and the cheap VFG with the integrated light mount....sigh!! All I want is a perfectly set up SIG at the show for me to take a pic... LOL

The precision SIG 556 had a riased rail section for optic mounting. looking at the lower trigger housing, wouldn't it be nice if MagPUL made a trigger housing with a nice folder like the one that they used on the ACR or even the UBR? I can only dream....or did i just leaked some secret? only time will tell.

As much as i dislike the SIG 556, I still would love to own one, being it is basically a SG55x rifle that got butchered when it cross the pond, but with some serious modification, this can be one heck of a platform....
SG556 with Samson rail system, a Auora System front and rear sight, maybe some one like MagPul would be nice enough to make a lower witha decent stock, Aimpoint M4. I think I would be in heaven....

Start the day with Vltor

CAV-V mid length with shorty barrel and KX3 brake. this thing is just too cool to describe.

FN Minimi stock upgrade kit. e-MOD looks great on the Mk46

MK46 with Tangodown VFG and bi-pod. this give the entire system a more integrated look.

Don't freak out, this is just a simnple DI gas upper with a HK 416 lower. This was just a showcase sample for the new Vltor CAS-V bi-level handguard.

Vltor's new rail system for the M14 platform.

Krebs AK top rail

We are about half way through the pictures... more to come....

The much anticipated LMT MRP piston system....

Break down components exposed.

very simple piston design, yet effective and well integrated.

Closer look at the piston and rod and the bolt carrier.

heavily weighted carrier to offsit the carrier bounce.

the ball detent keep the knob in place. no gas adjustment for suppressor, I was told this system did not require it.

The entire system is part of the barrel assembly which you can remove with just two hex screws.

CQB-R.

R-Bar Cutter

While I was at the LMT booth, I took the chance to snap a few pics of the new ATPIAL, replacing the AN-PEQ2

Thanks a lot for bringing these pics here. Nice job.

I see that tan crimson trace grip on the M&P45, does this mean crimson trace is going to start producing tan ones?

American Defense Manufacture is a newcomer in the optic mount industry. Their new products has brought much heated debate on line. I am doing a test on their mount vs. the much hailed LaRue, the bench mark where all mounts are measured. the report will be complete in the next few weeks, but so far, ADM are performing as well as the LaRue.. at least for a recreational shooter like me.

here is their newly revised mount, recoil lugs are removed and build into the cross bar and the tension adjustment can be adjusted by hand. the mount are now modular, you can slect the base and use it for a low, mid, high or cnatilever solution for your Aimpoint.

By pinching in the lever and side bar, you can push out the tension adjustment screw in order to adjust the locking tension of the lever to the rail system.

Couple of interesting items at the MidWest Industry

a MRE style rail system that is clamp to your rifle like a standard handguard.

Flip up front sight gas block with bayonet lug, with locking detent for the front sight.

Ultra low profile rear back up iron sight.
