But still keep the insaneo price tags. There are several reasons Trijicon may want to start using battery powered optics. For one, the fiber optic collector causes light emissions that NVDs can easily see. As NV becomes available to our foes, this will be more of a problem, even with the rubber covers. Further, tritium, for all its awesomeness, can actually be too bright for use with NVDs, while electric light sources you can limit the output for easier use with NV. And as Aimpoint shows, you can now get batteries to last almost as long as trit, yet be easily changed when dead. Don't get me wrong, I loves me some beta emitters.... But there are certain flaws in the existing tech. I agree they may mainly want to get away from it for paperwork reasons.
