I like Trijicon ACOGs, but $1000 for a red dot, which they initially said would be priced well under $1000???
No thanks, I'll stick with Aimpoint. |

I am convinced some of these companies are shooting for the moon while Uncle Same still has their checkbook open.

No chevron = Not interested for me.
That price is a tad steep when Aimpoints cost less and EOTechs cost far less... Hell the TriPowet costs less. |

It's not crack, it's meth, it makes you do even dumber shit, like trying to compete with the absolute standard $500 red dot with a newcomer at $1000.

Having seen their Wixom MI shop, with it's 3 shifts and 24 hour security, and all their new products are battery... They are trying to bail away from radioactive. But still keep the insaneo price tags. |

The price on their website is the MSRP (list price) which is not what the street price will be. They're probably going to end up selling for $825 or so.

C'mon, Trijicon can't be serious about recouping the cost of R&D and tooling in the first 6 months; can they????? ![]() |

$990 MSRP is pretty ballsy considering you can get a 2 MOA T-1 for less than $700 with a DD mount.

Having seen their Wixom MI shop, with it's 3 shifts and 24 hour security, and all their new products are battery... They are trying to bail away from radioactive. But still keep the insaneo price tags. There are several reasons Trijicon may want to start using battery powered optics. For one, the fiber optic collector causes light emissions that NVDs can easily see. As NV becomes available to our foes, this will be more of a problem, even with the rubber covers. Further, tritium, for all its awesomeness, can actually be too bright for use with NVDs, while electric light sources you can limit the output for easier use with NV. And as Aimpoint shows, you can now get batteries to last almost as long as trit, yet be easily changed when dead. Don't get me wrong, I loves me some beta emitters.... But there are certain flaws in the existing tech. I agree they may mainly want to get away from it for paperwork reasons. |

Would have liked to see more than just a Red-Dot... the green horse-shoe reticle SRS I shot at range day was the bomb (not sure if worth $1k though)
