I am a complete and utter dinosaur but would like to leave a legacy for my students to view years from now. I'm looking for suggestions as to the simplest way to record a grand piano in real time (not separate audio and video but open to that possibility.) The audio would need to be HD and video average but fluid without stuttering, etc/

Several folks have suggested an I-phone or I-pad mounted on a triad with a HD mic mated to the pad or external mic placed in the piano hooked into the pad via cable and adapter or small mixer. I wanted to do a bit more research however before purchasing one of these for dedicated recording/uploading and maybe EQing and editing with the many apps available.

Would a Go-Pro provide the same capability replete with HD audio ? Zoom devices ?
Is there another device or set-up that I am overlooking ?  Looking for ideas in all price ranges but the simpler the better i.e. press 'record' and capture video and audio of the song in real time then save (maybe edit) and upload.

Thanks for any suggestions, and I apologize in advance for being barely literate in this arena.

For ease of use, I would probably just go with a Zoom H2N if I wanted to record 360° of audio. Or their video Q2N camera if I wanted both audio and video. They both have USB ports and can be used to record straight to the computer.

For a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation), I would get Reaper. It's a well made DAW that is capable of high quality and is cheap. They only ask for a $60 donation if you want to get updates.

There's also videos on YouTube that explain how these work (the Q2N is fairly new, so it has less info out there).
