There were so many good country songs released during these two decades it's crazy. Pre-80's country has a place too, I don't care much for the newer post early-2000's country music.

I think it reached it's peak during the 80's and 90's.

Garth Brooks, Brooks & Dunn, George Strait, Travis Tritt, Randy Travis, Reba McEntire, Trace Adkins, Tracy Byrd, John Michael Montgomery, Hank Williams Jr., John Anderson, Clint Black, Alabama, Shenandoah, Tracy Lawrence, Alan Jackson, Dwight Yoakam, Vince Gill, Faith Hill, The Judds, Dolly Parton, Mark Chesnutt, Trisha Yearwood, Shenia Twain, Clay Walker, Patty Loveless, Tanya Tucker, Martina McBride, Pam Tillis, Chris LaDoux, Brad Paisley, Willie Nelson, Tim McGraw, Toby Keith, Sammy Kershaw, Joe Diffie, Diamond Rio, Kenny Chesney, Aaron Tippin, and the list goes on and on.

Great Music!

There's some shitty pop country in that mix.

I detest modern country. The only thing better than the 80's and 90's were the 50's - 70's.
Hank, George, Tammy, Lefty, Cash, Marty, Loretta, Charlie, Patsy, Ray, Waylon, Willie, Merle, Statlers, etc.
Love the steel guitar and lots of twang.

^ awesome! Never knew Pete was so "plug n play".  Pretty basic amp sound by todays standards.

There's good stuff today as well, but they generally don't play it on the radio.
