David Piggott is the bass player for Monte Montgomery. Thoughts on this piece.

the guy obviously has chops and it's a nice, well written piece...

To be honest as a bass player I am somewhat torn on this type of bass playing...A large part of me just simply prefers to hear bass in it's natural role in music, as a "support" instrument for lack of a better term...

I enjoy playing like this but the choice of a capo threw me off.

I play a version of Hurt by NIN's with this kind of technique. It's much more emotive than on a guitar.

That was great.  I prefer this style of solo bass over the shredders like Jaco or the uber-slappers like mark king.
