Gilmour has the first with a S\N 0001
Marvin has the first sold in the U.K.
Talk about Vintage!

Pretty neat video... Gilmour still can make that strat sing. Hank Marvin had great tone on "Sleepwalk" as well - and it's always great seeing Pino Pallidino.

I love strats. They sound musical even if they are a little out of tune.

Leo hit a lot of home runs back in the day and Gilmour ain't bad either .

That certainy didn't help my current 'I need to add a Strat to my LesPaul collection' thing which has been going on lately.

Been pondering a Strat or a Tele for the past few months.... Well, years... Ok, decades. .  Seriously pondering one of the American Vintage line currently if not a custom shop guitar.

Dat tone.  Not available from my current options.

Japanese strats are the way to go for killer tone on less money than other models.   You really need to try them though.

I bought my '94 on the advice of Matt Sorum's wife.  I don't really know her or anything, but I had the opportunity to ask her about the guitar and its specs.  She said jump on it.

I was wasn't sure at the time, but I am glad I went with her advice.

A shop near me has a Japanese E serial Strat up for sale currently... Was going to give it a whirl today anyhow.
They also have an American Vintage 56 and a couple of the custom shop models as well as the expected American Syandard and Deluxe models.

I plan on noodling around until the sales guy asks me politely to leave.
Price is a secondary concern on the upcoming Strat purchase... Only going to be putting one into the collection, want to get the correct one.

Is there a Guitar Center near you?
My local GC has always been very good to me.
Chain store prices with a small store helpful attitude.

Really???  I wish your GC was closer to me.   The one around here is a complete nightmare.  If I go in there to look at anything I try to avoid the employees like the plague.

Just watched this again.
Hank Marvin was so cool on Apache, without trying to be cool.
Just, Cool.

I ended up buying a Strat a little while ago.
Got a Japanese 58 FSR, one of about 250 brought into the states.
Price of a high end MIM, quality equal to US custom shop from what I can feel and hear.
Fret work is the best I have ever seen on any guitar.

I just can't help but play Hank Marvin riffs on it.
