THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT Called Apocryphon and to be recorded in less than two weeks, it's scheduled for an October release. According to me these guys haven't released a bad song yet. |

I caught them when they were opening for Metallica during the Death Magnetic tour. I'll be interested to see how they sound since they've got a new drummer.

I love Warp Riders especially. I got to meet Bryan Richie a while back at the Exodus/Testament/Megadeth show at Stubb's Ampitheatre here in Austin... The Sword had opened for Motorhead a couple weeks before that at the same venue and I was talking to a guy in the audience saying that The Sword had put on a totally kickass show... and totally unknown to me Bryan was standing right behind me... and introduced himself... He is a very cool and down to earth guy and we talked for about 20 minutes until Testament started playing (this was during the down time after Exodus finished their set). I love Stubb's... every show there is like a family reunion with all the people I've run into at shows around here over the years. If I don't see someone I know, my wife always does because she's a native Austinite and has been going to shows around here since she was a kid. |

I've you liked Warp Riders, this will satisfy you for sure. The new drummer hasn't changed their sound noticeably, but I may change that when I've listened to it on a better system since I'm listening to it on my laptop right now. I'm in the middle of my first listen as I'm typing this. Cronise's vocals are clearer than on any previous album and he sounds really great, a lot like Ozzy when he was young and without all the effects, but still it's Cronise's own sound for sure. I got the "Deluxe Edition" or whatever it's called with several live songs on it and the cover of ZZ Top's Cheap Sunglasses. A couple of the bonus tracks were recorded at Stubb's, so maybe it was the show you were at. |

I like this album a lot. It's not amazing, it's not really groundbreaking either, it's just good solid metal. I wish there were more bands around putting stuff out like this.

I'd like to see their lyrics return to more of the style of the first two albums, but I'm a geek at heart. And who knew that you could get a ZZ Top song stuck in your head and not be annoyed? |

"She wore a cloak of feathers, and rode a mare of purest white"
Such a great song... |

I think it may be one of their strongest songs in their whole catalog. |
