I'm thinking of getting a GlaStar, one is for sale nearby and I'm going to go look it over and test fly it tomorrow.
Do any of you have thoughts or experiences with this aircraft you'd like to share?
It's pretty (aren't they all?) but of course being a plane assembled by an independent builder introduces the likelihood of significant differences from bird to bird. I'm intrigued by the claims that it excels at slow flight (sub 50 knots) and has a comfortable cruise of about 130 knots.
Anyway, any input on the inspection and/or flight test would be welcome.

What a week! I found the right Glastar for me. Pre-buy inspection turned up no issues, initial flight trials showed her to be a delight to fly. The contract has been signed and only the nit-noid details remain before taking possession. Like everyone that goes through this, it's a happy day now, and hopefully for a while before I need to start fixing/upgrading.
As the second glastar I looked at, it is obvious that the build quality on this one is much higher all around. Better maintenance, better records, better condition, etc. No drips, runs, or errors under the cowl. During the inspection, a review of the areas one doesn't normally see confirmed that this aircraft was someone's baby. It was clean clean clean, and the craftsmanship was evident everywhere. In the flight review, I observed that, compared to the first Glastar, this one runs smoother, climbs faster, glides flatter, and is a an absolute delight to fly. Slow flight was considerably more docile on this one too, with minimal pilot workload, 50 MPH was easy and stable, and 125mph at 2250 rpm was an economical low-cruise setting. It was interesting to see that all the speeds on this one were in MPH instead of knots, but that is the builder's choice, of course, and easy enough to change down the road if desired. Thanks to all of you who commented. I'll update with pics when it is home in a hangar at my AO.
