Am I correct in assuming it's ok to jumpseat with a gun if you check your bag and declare the firearm. But what's the story with flying into LGA with it, I still have my CT concealed permit and I want to carry while I'm there. Do I have to fly into BDL, which makes my life a lot more difficult because it's on the opposite side of the state.

Jump seat or not you can declare and carry in checked bag.
LGA is a no-no unless you want a vacation in club fed
BDL only option
