What a fun little plane!

LG retract handle is in a horrible place.  Other than that,  great fun little plane.

Local guy I know had a little get together with cars and planes at his little airport.  Lots of fun.  Got to see the Mini Merlin project that I passed up last year,  It looks good,  It has had taxi tests done,  so it is well on its way to flying.  There wer everything from model T and A cars to 60s Volvos and Fiats.

It was windy as holy hell today,  but we still managed to fly the little 18.

I love the look of those planes.  Back when my wife had a Mooney, we'd see one occasionally at fly-ins.  Never got the opportunity to fly one, though.

Add me to the list of those that always wanted to take one around just once. I love the paint on that one, too.

Not a rocket ship off the turf but that's OK!

I flew one when I was 16(1965)
It had a Beech-Roby variable pitch prop that was adjustable with a small crank on the instrument panel.
It made a kid feel "impotent"

Flew one around 1980, I thought the trim/flap on the same control was a clever idea.
Not much in the way of brakes but you really didn't need them much, a fun airplane.

Awesome!  Thanks for sharing.  I've always wanted to fly a Mooney Mite.

They're so small and fast  they almost disappear in the pattern, especially on long runways
