"Towering granite cliffs,"

There's scud running, then there's Alaska scud running.

Damn, I was just on a DeHavilland Otter float plane (glacier tour) in Alaska 3 weeks ago.
Different city and different airline (but also booked through the cruise ship) not that it really matters.  This is what these guys do for a living and they're true professionals.
And yes, I would do it again in a heartbeat; it was worth every penny.

There seems to be a bad floatplane crash every other year up there in SE AK. I used to live right across the street from Promech when I was living in Ktown. I had high hopes to fly part time with one of the floatplane operators up there. That is until I heard a Beaver taking off on the narrows. Never saw him as it was only a quarter mile vis. I decided I would rather play BF2 than do that!

Was this the one that flew into a remote camp at the foot of a glacier where they feed you fresh caught salmon? Was the cruise ship line Royal Caribbean?
