And they'll be made in China. The loss of Mooney to China is worse than them closing forever.

It looks like a columbia with a funky tail.

Bares zero resemblence to anything mooney has made in the past.

My boss owns a columbia, bought it brand new. Its our LAST composite plane. POS looks 20 years old, and it has been babied since birth 5 years ago. Had 2 permenantly bonded windows blow out over the 5 years. The repairs made by a factory authorized composite center suck!

We bought a brand new Meridian to replace it. Aluminum is superior IMHO.

I remember the Mooney Porsche's. They didn't go over too well.

The 1st Mooney that I flew was an M-18 "Mooney Mite" in 1965. It was a 65hp Continental with a Beech/Robey controllable pitch prop. You turned a little crank on the instrument panel to change pitch.
For a 16 year old pilot it seemed like a miniature P-51.

In my vast experience of about 19 hours in an M20J about 15 years back I remember thinking that it should be bigger and that the fuel selector wasn't all that easy to get to. That's my only informed opinion of a Mooney. And my 1,000 or so hours in Cirrus and other plastic airplanes leads me to the conclusion that if I ever decide to start setting money on fire I still won't buy a plastic airplane. I literally laughed out loud when I first heard the announcement of the cirrus jet.

That would of been the first year 77' model with the fuel selector on the left sidewall by your knee. I owned a 78' and they moved it to the floor
between the seats and replaced the go fast levers with a simple push/pull controls.

Excellent. More planes in the air the better. 100LL is too expensive.

Well... I can hope that this will stir some looking at the state of GA affiars.  I still look back fondly at the anemic state of things in the 90s when I started flying.  The glory days of GA in the 60s and 70s sound awesome.

It won't, because these planes are bound to cost $2-400k+ . It's a rich man's game now.
