Who took the picture?

USAF has to use them, if critics heard they sat this one out they would ask what good it does.

Syria has a fully integrated air defense system in some parts of the country. There was a reason to use the F22, and penetration of those areas was certainly it.

I thought the consensus was that this is irrelevant for future engagements.

Never believe the consensus view when it comes to war. As Patton said, of the three obvious choices available to an enemy, he will always choose the fourth.

Doesn't look like it did an awful lot of damage to that building.

When I blow up a building, I prefer an indistinguishable pile of rubble afterwards.

PR stunt.

Air Force "needs" to justify the F-22 since it is easy to poke at since it hasn't seen combat. Not like the F-15C has done anything useful for us since 2003 either, but those are just people not in the know trying to convince idiots their agenda is right.

$10 says Syria had all of it's IAD's turned off and not a single jet in the sky as part of a deal with the US.

They're using the most pure air superiority craft EVER made, to shoot at goat fucking barbarians. On the ground.

That's an indictment.

You don't have to level the building to kill everyone inside and make the structure uninhabitable.

Do you even overpressure, Bro?

Yep, and spending $1.3 a pop on Tomahawks to level tents.

We're gonna start using Minutmen 3s to replace artillery at this rate.

There's actually been a lot of talk about that for the past decade, putting conventional munitions on ICBM's and IRBM's to provide rapid force projection without needing aircraft carriers or bases in friendly nations.

The downside is always that anything on a ballistic sub-orbital trajectory will always make the other nuclear powers froggy.

Uh, yeah, the good idea fairy had an aneurysm on that one.

There are two nations that can track an ICBM, neither are likely targets for PGS, and as far as I'm concerned they can have officers in the room when PGS is launched just to make sure it's all on the up and up.

The Russians nearly nuked everyone over a science missile.

They're too paranoid for this.

Looks to me that the bomb impacted the tower in the middle of the structure, in a direction from the bottom left of the photo.  Looks like the top right of the building is pretty heavily damaged as well as the shed at the very top corner of the picture.
