Since when is 700 hours high experience?  Or do they mean 700 in type?

That said, I don't do much high density altitude flying, but i know that shit is real.

That was very poor judgement.

I've repeatedly learned the hard way that:

Life's hard but it's harder when you're stupid.

Seems like a bad idea.

He did nug out those numbers to the exact foot. But damn, he had zero room for error.

That's too close. Was the prop governor set to max? Was all cylinders up to snuff?
Was Plugs clean? Was mag timed right?

Unless he was intentionally keeping the nose down, he's an idiot.

Then there's the Russians use of all the runway.

Was it leaned for max power at density altitude?

Bad idea to do that in a turbocharged aircraft on takeoff.

Wow, reminds of of that pilot in Idaho a year or two ago that flew into the trees.

When I started flight training my instructor and I were going over performance numbers.  One thing stuck with me "These numbers are for a new, straight, airplane.  The airplane you are flying is worn and crooked, don't push your luck."
