It would be interesting to know the history of that particular airframe. About 15 years ago I flew for a small freight company, and one night was at the postal service terminal and a c-47 taxied up to pickup some mail. The crew claimed that it was actually used in the airdrop over Normandy the night/ morning of June 6.

I saw that flying circles around downtown from the Chase building last week. I wish I had time to go see it.
