The sonic cruiser design may be ideal for UDF, un-ducted fan engines. As the intolerable noise could be partially blocked or attenuated by the empennage design. Promising significant gains in propulsive efficiency.

I'm inclined to agree with some comments that .98M (vs say.85M) is pretty much worthless given the tradeoffs where 1.7M would be worth similar tradeoffs.
In and of itself. Now this work would certainly lead to other new stuff so it is worth it in terms of the enginnering practice and discovery. |
