We're applying herbicides, but be aware that technically, all herbicides are pesticides (but not all pesticides are herbicides).  Pesticide, as a term of art, refers to any substances meant for attracting, seducing, and then destroying any pest.  Plant or animal.

We were in some pretty country today on the LZ.  Pain in the rear to work, but awesome to look at.

If it has the same pilot from Proms air show, I believe his name is Kevin, you are in for a treat. The man can really fly that plane.

Did not see it fly. Was surprised to see it wasn't roped off to keep the public from molesting it.

Something a bit different. I attended Modern Day Marine and Bell again brought their autonomous B-247 Vigilant tilt rotor. It was designed for the Marine's multi-role VTOL program, but I don't think it's made it past a mock up.

A Bell drone that has flown is their pod transport:

Awesome! Didn't know anyone else was at the show. The birds from the Museum usually don't fly at Oceana, but having them on display for the local 'big' show is good advertising.

first few from the show I've processed:

A few from Reno.

It's strange what this site does to pictures.  It stretched them out a fair amount.  Click on an image to see the original size.

If you do, take your longest lens.  The action is pretty far away, and my full frame camera and 300mm lens wasn't nearly enough. I knew it wouldn't be, but I'm having to do an insane amount of cropping on these pictures.

Think my 200-500 would be enough, or should I get a sigma 150-600?

I think you would be OK with the 200-500.  We had box seats, so I was about as far out on the ramp, and as close to the action as you could get.  But the actual race course is on the other side of the runway, and is pretty far away.  Plus, the planes are pretty much in a constant left turn, which means they are almost always belly up to the grand stand area as they pass by.  And that makes for some boring shots after a while.  They do level their wings for a few seconds in the "valley of speed", but that is on the back side of the course.  About the only other time to catch them wings level is on the last lap as they cross the finish line, or maybe at the start when they are first getting lined up. The demonstrations (Thunderbirds, CAF, etc.) are mostly over the runway, so they are a little closer.  There are loads of picture opportunities with the static displays, or in the pits, but there are lots of people around too, and that can jam up the pictures some. Still, it's probably worth the trip at least once.

Duxford is on my list next time in London.   FBO looks pretty nice.  Can you talk about your "business " there?  Doesn't look like the plane in the foreground is a typical corporate charter.

Without getting too specific - I'm no longer a helicopter Flight Mechanic flying on SAR missions, now i'm a C-37 Flight Engineer flying Admirals and other senior executives where they need to be to support Coast Guard and DHS missions.

Vague and political enough?

But seeing as this one was awhile ago no harm in giving some info, the trip through London was supporting this mission

Thanks for the info!  Completely understand the need to be vague.  I had a feeling it was along those lines.  Thanks!

Thanks. The lighting was perfect for silhouettes. The only thing that would have been better was if they would have had their formation slime lights on.
