I was glad to be able to take some personal time and get out there. The wind made it feel much colder than it was, though. Crazy man was out in his damn kayak, though lol.

The Viper stayed tight to the base,  but the Raptor swung out wider and passed over us at the Nature area/park a few times. I'll get a few of those up in a few days. Working all weekend again.

Even at that it is still much better than most of us could do!   That bird has some really nice lines to it even though it is nearing its 80th birthday!

This one is a replica with modern engines.
The museum only had a grass runway, so the 262 gets kept at their old hangar at a local airport. As such, the plane barely gets seen by the public unless its during one of these rare flyovers. It was supposed to appear a few times this last season, but they've been rebuilding the brakes...

Lol, forced perspective makes it look like a tiny Hornet slung under your Lear's wing.

Blasts from clustered R4Ms (and) quartets in My snout,
And see these English planes go burn!
Now will You be My witness how red were the sky's
When those Fortresses flew for the very last time.
It was dark over Westphalia, in April of'45.

Thank you. I still have much to learn, though. I'm just now starting to knock the rust off to get ready for this season.

This P-40 is a finely restored aircraft.

That is a strange yet graceful plane.  I bet it was fun to watch making the circuits around the field in some nice well mannered turns.

It is oddly graceful. It was really nice to see if make some nice sweeping banks over a regular airfield. When she flies at her home field, the sight lines aren't the best for bigger planes.

Incredible to see how far we've come in 100 years.   In 1918 the Fokker Triplane was one of the best in the sky.

Fokker was 20 when he moved to Germany to build planes. That is amazing in itself.

Collings Foundation Wings of Freedom tour today. Just missed their newly overhauled P-40 by a couple of hours. It was supposed to join them from Chino in Texas today.

Yes, that's what they were going for. That's a PO-2, the same type of aircraft the Night Witches flew.
