Tail rotor at 1/6400 second exposure.  Note the hub placard; can't quite read it but it's plainly visible.

110mm, f/4.5, ISO 400.

And here's the main and tail, at 1/8000 sec, which is as fast as my camera will go.

Someone really needs to think about springing for some fresh paint for that Superbug.

Funny thing is, that's the CAG  bird for the squadron, so she does have decent paint on the top side.  She's just super dirty underneath.

Squid, those are some amazing shots.  I take it you live near Oceana?

In other news, today we wrapped up our last tract.  9,500 acres on 185 tracts in 29 counties, took about 5 weeks.  Whew!

Badass shots! I love seeing your crew.

Thanks for the compliment!

Yeah, I live fairly close to Oceana. I only shoot over there on occasion, but last weekend was their big airshow. Got to hang with a cool group of photographers from all over the NE that I met on Instagram. Nice meeting some like minded people - and every single one of them was damn good. Kinda makes you bring your A-game to the table.

Cool!

Now that we're done with the run I have the pleasure of going back through my keepers (or just going through!) and finding hidden gems.

Just wondering if these are different shots, or if you worked on the ones you posted in the other thread.

ah!  okay.  No, they're not the same shots, and both are cropped biggly.

The Pitts was a lot closer to me for that shot than any of the others got to me.
