OK, all 3 of my desktop humidors are full, and both coolers are full. Seems as though the next step is clearly a Wineador. I found a few threads here that talked about getting a thermoelectric one and talking about drawers and shelves.

Would love it if some of you guys could post some pictures of your set ups and explain how you set it up, what seems to work well and what doesn't.

Just trying to figure out the set up I want BEFORE I start ordering stuff. Any pics or info are welcome.

Edit:

Alright guys, drawers came in and look beautiful. Everything is seasoned properly and holding temp and humidity. 68-70 F & 64-66 RH. Would like to keep temps a little lower but this is the best I can get here in Florida for the summer. I did not plug my drain hole and have not had a single shift in humidity so far. Been about 3-4 weeks since set up. 2 shelves, 1 normal drawer, & 1 drawer with a false bottom. This was ideal for me so I could have a few drawers for loose cigars and still have plenty of room to stack boxes, plus it kept cost down a little. These have birdseye maple drawers and the shelves even have the strip of BE Maple on them(hard to tell from the pics). Both drawers are also fully vented. Needless to say I am VERY happy that I went this route. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask.

Full Shot

False bottom humidity set up - 3 Boveda packs I'm trying to bring back to life, 3 bags of 65% Heartfelt Beads....I also have 1 65% puck of Heartfelt Beads on the top shelf.

Bottom Drawer - my NC drawer. Cigars are 3 deep.

2nd Drawer - my CC/Higher End Cigars. 3 deep here too.

About to skip the wineador and go straight to building the big size humidor.   Sounds like a fun project.

Damn...no pictures yet? C'mon guys....I know some of you have a wineador.

djsmiles......please post some pics when you do get it set up....also, how long did it take you to get your drawers from Forrest? Were they just standard or did you have a special wood done for the fronts?

You the man Echo...Thank you!

And I like the tip about getting doubles instead of single drawers.

BTW....I think you have a cigar problem

Thanks for the pics and info guys. I really appreciate it.

I ordered a NewAir 28 count from air & water. If you are in the market for one, today is a great day to order. 25% off for mothers day. Normal cost is $239.95, after the code(MOM) it came out to 179.96. $59.99 off, plus free shipping and no tax since I am not in California.

I forget the brand (pretty sure its New Air) and size. Got it for $30 on cl. Now I just need save up for the fancy shelves. You can also see my lady killer 2 year old checking out Daddy's "foof its." (foof is the sound you make when you blow on something, so he just connected the dots and started calling them that.)

Not sure how long djsmiles' drawers took, but on Forrest's website he is saying 5 weeks for most orders.

I just ordered 2 fully vented drawers & 3 shelves with birdseye maple hardwood fronts on Saturday. Once they arrive I'll update this thread with pics and time frames.

My drawers took a little over 4 months.  No idea why.  But that was the time frame.  While Forrest does wonderful work, his lack of communication leaves a lot to be desired.

As soon as I get out of the hospital, I will set up my winedoor For some pics for you folks.

Yeah, I wasn't too impressed with the wait.  But, it was a lovely gift from my bride-to-be.  So i didn't mind it as much.  It was also around the holidays.

Nice! Thanks for the pics. Like the dark color on those, what wood type is that, and are those the fully vented drawers? Last one......what is the large thing on your top shelf to the left in the 2nd picture.

Echo is in hell right now...

It's leading to finals week here, Spring Fling was last weekend (we had T-Pain here live with the PUBLIC invited to get an extremely limited number of tickets) and I head out for my third instructor firearms course Monday.
Saying my plate is full is a complete understatement.

I have been able to get some cool training in and evaluate some hot new LEO gear but there seems to be less and less hours in a day lately.
When I am not at work or "out of freekin town for your party, retreat, vacation and aka - "training"...AGAIN..(her words)....the wife has me "helping" her redecorate what has turned out to be most of the freekin house!

And my thumbs are just fine....how's the liver???
At last report your doctor was not too pleased with you and your alcohol saturated liver...
My thumbs should be the least of your wories!

And that Mead should be old enough to drive now so it's really time to share....

I just snagged a 90 bottle wine fridge of cl. PO says it doesn't cool and I haven't hooked it up to nail down the issue. I'm running a 15 bottle cooler(pic on the last page) and just plan on moving everything over. I have heartfelts in a sock right now. Am I going to need more beads or is one sock enough in that huge thing? I don't have enough sticks to fill the new unit, so I figure I'll fill half of it with empty boxes to help hold the humidity.

The winador, VT 34 TS.

It's little friend next to it.

And a brief glimpse inside at the moment:

Yes... I would definitely add more.

There is no such thing as too much BTW, the more you have the more stable it will be no matter the other conditions. I have about 3 pounds of KL in my winador and again in my coolidor.

New on the left, old on the right. I plugged the new one in and it runs, but never cools down. I can't complain for $40 on cl. A little research says the Vintage Keepers all seem to burn out and they'll sell you a replacement for around $270. If thats the case I'll just leave mine unplugged.

Just got this in a couple days ago.  The previous owner didn't take the best care of it and there was a bit of a musty odor in it.  I've changed the activated carbon filter and put a bunch of baking soda on plates and newspaper in to try and get the musty smell out.  The shelves are made of Beech and people use that but I would like a 4th shelf anyway.  I have a local place that sells Spanish Cedar so I think I'm going to spend some money tomorrow on a couple boards and just make all new shelving.  Also have a couple more fans on the way.

They're designed to run at 70%RH and that's where it was at this morning at all 3 hygrometers.  Temperature was within 1dF top to bottom.  I'm going to get some kitty litter crystals to dry out and add to the bottom to dry it out a little.  Should be adding my boxes to it within a week or so.

You know it's a big humidor when it's bigger than your gun safe....lol.....that thing is a monster. Will that be for aging or for all cigars?

Forrest said he was building my shelves last week and applying the finish to the Birdseye Maple fronts over the weekend, SOOOOOO, hoping that they ship out this week. Seeing everyone's pics is making the wait very hard.

I picked up around 13 bdft of Spanish Cedar yesterday. There'll be a bit of waste but wanted to be sure I will have enough. I'm taking it to work tomorrow and hopefully, I'll get 5 shelves out of it.

I made the holder for around 3 or 4 lbs of kitty crystals and within a couple hours, I'm at 59% RH. This is my first time using it... I thought it was supposed to be 2 way Echo? The only 2 way that I know besides KL is Boveda and Heartfelt beads. I've used Boveda with great success with my NewAir but that's about 1/5th the size of this... If that. I bought another brick of them to use in this as well. 60 total 60g packs. I usually put 1 or 2 in a box when there's the room for them and then I have holders that mount under the shelving to hold some extra as well.

The new fans arrive Thursday and it won't take long to get those running so hopefully by Thursday, I'll be able to move my boxes over.

Eta

Shelves are done. $130 total plus dinner for my Captian for bringing the required tools to work today and helping me.

Ok so does someone have a source on one of these at discount. Sure, I can play the CL game but really hate it.

I really need to step up to one of these.

Air & Water is having a sale for the 4th of July....should be able to get a new one for a decent price, not craigslist cheap, but decent. Would still need drawers though, unless you buy the model that comes with cedar drawers.

I don't have the cedar drawers yet, just the metal racks it comes with, with boxes of cigars in it. I have 1 65% puck of beads in the whole thing and I have not had to re-charge it yet. Don't know how bad it'll be once I have the actual drawers in there, but I image about the same. These just seal really well, so the humidity can't just leak out an disappear.

I also live in Florida where it is humid all the time anyways, so that may have something to do with it.

I think this is a good turn key option

I'm looking at picking one up myself.  Started a thread to see if there were any with experience with this specific unit but didn't get much feedback.  The on site reviews seem pretty good.
