I have a coolerdor and its been pretty good so far.  My house has been really dry the past few months and my coolerdor has been as well.  I never really had a problem before but then again my last place wasn't this dry.

I've been watching the scratch-n-dent sales for a while but haven't pulled the trigger... until today.  I bought a Koldfront 28 bottle cooler and it should be here in a few days.  I have spanish cedar trays from my coolerdor that I'll use in there on the wire racks until I can order some of the really nice spanish cedar trays/shelves.

My plan is to eventually get another one to actually put wine in and then build a bar that will fit both of them in it.

Any tips or tricks for them?

Do you think I can store a few bottles of wine in the cooler with my cigars?  I can't really think of a reason why I couldn't.

I am going to have to disagree with Echo.  It will be a big problem.

This is indeed very true, no thanks to this place I originally purchased a scratch n dent Newair 18 Bottle, and got drawers from Forrest. Ive nearly filled it a year later. About halfway through filling the 18 bottle I found a screaming deal on a 28 bottle Vinotemp on CL. It actually holds wine right now, but wifey knows because its in the Man Cave, her wine's going elsewhere when the 18 is at capacity.

MAKE SURE YOU CAN GET DRAWERS FOR THAT SIZE!!!!!

I only see 21 and 28 bottle models listed....of course they all can make custom sizes but I always go for the "off the shelf" availability.

Echo
I thought about that right before I pushed order.

Then I thought hey why not look at Craigslist.

Then I said can I make my own drawers??? I then remembered the Spanish cedar dust is toxic.

Could one not take the tops off boxes and use them as drawers?

I did a whole tutorial on my custom drawer build here in the humidor. Search and you will find it.

I'm going to wait a while to get the shelves.  I'm currently using my cedar trays I had in my coolerdor on the existing wire racks.  I'm trying to get the humidity up but its just sitting around 52%.  I have 65% Heartfelt beads in there and a shotglass of water sitting in there.  I think I need to add a fan to get the air circulating.

Yes...you can do it yourself.

Yes...you can run over to CheapHumidors.com and buy trays...I did and used them until my stuff was built.

They worked great and I still have a bunch in my cooladors.

DIY...

I did the math...I have all the tools between my house and my father's....he has all that air quality crap so the dust was not a problem.

Buy the wood...

Do the prep work...

Build the drawers...

Clean-up, spit and polish...

Or....order pre-built and simply slide them in.....

Echo chose the latter!

With no local source of Spanish Cedar it was going to cost me more to make my own then to order custom sized drawers for my VT34TS.

Obvious choice was obvious.
