I keep an Avo punch of my keychain (over 10 years now.... little bastard is a survivor), and always have a Xikar Xi2 or Xi3 handy for when I decided to fire up a belicoso.

Pocket knife to just cut the cap off or cut a punch size hole with, or my Palio.

I just received a Cuban crafters perfect cutter. I've used it a couple of times and really could be considered perfect.

Its all dependent on what I smoke, ring gage and tapered/ torpedo. Most of the time I use my V cut. http://www.xikar.com/products/cutters/vx-v-cut/#
If I'm smoking something bigger than 54 ring gage I'll use my large gage punch. For torpedo's I'll either punch 2 sides or I'll use a guillotine cut. |
