I'm sure they are not the $8 Cohiba red dots I've been buying locally but wondering what the consensus was here.

Customer reviews seem about half & half.

It would be nice to be able to try 5 before buying 20 of them.

I split with 3 other guys.  If you bought a 5'er, you wouldn't ever buy 20.

Acrid, nasty smoke.  Flavor was between rotten wood and creosote.

Are any of their knock-offs worth it?

CI ......no.

Now JRs Alternatives are a different story.

I have tried a few and have been delighted with more than a select few...exxxxzactly like the real deal...no but damn close.

Especially the "Cuban" offerings.

But just like anything, some really are too good to be true. It is all dependent on your own tastes and what you like.

Cohibas are not my favorite so I may be jaded or overly harsh in my assessment.

RyJs were pleasant and pretty close.

The Bolis...not bad but NOT my tubos...just sayn...

And the Padrons I have samples were quite nice...especially the 64s and I tend to reach for the 26 series from my B&M.

You may get a good batch and then a few duds but you are paying a fraction of the cost in lost cases and surely not taking any risks with the "Cuban" offerings either.

You're saying RyJ's are pretty close to Cohibas?

I love the Cohiba red dots but at $8-10 a piece I cant afford to have a "supply" (read more than 3 at a time at home) without the wife cutting me off

I usually stop at the local shop and grab to or three for the weekend or whatever but I'd like to find something affordable to keep on hand at home.

Disclaimer Yes I'm fairly new to this.

Thanks for the info, Echo.  I wish JR sold them in five packs or as singles instead of just bundles, but at least they're
mostly under $40 for a bundle of 20...
