I know I'm not the only one who likes to drink and smoke so let's do a pairing thread. What do you pair with the different cigars you smoke?

Single Malt Scotch neat, bourbon neat, A hoppy IPA, rum and coke, or a Dr. Pepper.

I'm just a redneck with no refined taste, but I know what tastes good.....
Ice cold Dr. Pepper or unsweetened iced tea with everything.
:)
eta: black coffee with the mornin smoke....

I will have to try the Dr. Pepper combo next time. I'm a converted hillbilly (grew up in civilization) so I'm sure it will suit my tastes as well.

Any of them. I don't like mild cigars with alcohol, so I guess Dr. Pepper or maybe the rum and coke(if there isn't much rum-and not spiced) for a mild cigar.
I haven't gotten sophisticated enough to actually do a "pairing," so I just enjoy them. I haven't found a nice cigar that was ruined by an accompanied drink.

Whiskey & Coke - classic
Whiskey & Root Beer - taste like cream soda if you mix it right
Whiskey & Dr. Pepper - very refrshing
Peach Vodka & Iced Tea - great on a hot night

These go with any cigar I smoke.

I had a MOW Virtue the other night with a long island iced tea. That was really good.

Right now, miller high life in a bottle (only way to drink a miller) soon to move on to a bottle of malbec or cab.

For the cider guy... Head to the local wine shop & pick up a bottle of gazzella white. Normally do not like whites but this is lightly carbonated, sweet & refreshing. Really tasted like a cider to me.

Also cheap as hell.

Most of the time I drink whatever is on hand. Overall though, this is my general guide to pairing:

Red meat + strong drink = strong cigar

White meat/fish + beer/wine = medium cigar

Morning coffee = Fuente Don Carlos. Pairs perfectly.

funny you should ask, the wife and daughter are gone for a weekend retreat in CT. and i shall having Heineken (which is currently cooling in the beer tender), camacho corojo's (maduro) and a porterhouse steak.

when the beer runs out, then it's either gin and tonics or woodford reserve.

Single malt scotch or VSOP Cognac . If its earlier in the day, then Earl Grey tea (esp with my pipe).

Overwhelmingly my choice of adult beverage while smoking a cigar is a single malt scotch.

The malt I choose will depend on the cigar that I'm smoking in order to achieve the best possible pairing.

It's a ton of fun experimenting with malt/scotch pairings and when you find one that works just right, it's an amazing experience.

My other half has mastered the "Mojito", when we were in Vegas we spent a lot of time at Casa de Fuente, and she got them to show her their formula. They are perfect for a hot day and a great smoke.

Summertime - Nice pint of Guinness

When it's cooler - Single Malt Scotch, usually 10 yr Ardbeg or Laphroaig, with a few rocks in a rocks glass. Mmmmmmmmm...
