THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT site, and Cigar Monster, though y'all can't claim credit for CI.
The reason that I started lurking is that I've been looking for some cigars for my father. I usually buy him a couple of samplers or 5-packs for his birthday or other special occasions, and was looking for some new ideas. He has a 50 stick desktop humidor, so I was thinking about building a fridgeador/wineador. He said he doesn't smoke enough to make it worthwhile, but that's not stopping me from building my own over the next few months as funds allow...did I say I hate you guys. Currently in his humidor is the following: 5 Vegas Classic CAO Black CAO CX2 Cu Avana Intensus Drew Estate Natural Root Deluxe Drew Estate Natural Dark Angel Drew Estate Natural Dirt Drew Estate Natural Clean Robusto MOW (double corona - I think) Graycliff 1666 Padilla 1932 Padilla Limitado Edicion Especial 2006 He doesn't seem particularly attached to any particular brand, but likes Drew Estate's offerings, and I remember years ago he liked CAO Brazilia. He probably smokes 2-3 cigars a month. So, what does the Humidor crew suggest? |

OK.....do not get him started with high-dollar sticks.
San Crystabal is in his future....Sun Grown or my tasty fav....XXL. Also see if you can find some Benchmade Cigars....another tasty Pepin blend offered by Ashton. The Padron 3000 - 5000 line is also a good start.. |

Few things:
1. Stop buying 5 Vegas, they're just about as bottom shelf as you can get. 2. Tell him to put his flavored cigars in a ziplock w/ a RH source and keep his regular cigars in the humi. The flavors will meld over time ruining both. 3. If he only smokes 2-3 a month and considering he's your pops, get him a few nice cigars once you build him a nice humi. In the meantime pick up an Ashton VSG of whatever his favorite size is for a nice treat for him. |

CAO, Rocky Patel, Cusano, decent smokes without breaking the bank. And like stated before, throw in a few nice sticks every now & then. Cohiba, AVO, Ashton, etc. Good Luck.
