I just signed the papers on a foreclosed double wide that i won at an auction.

i signed the paper work Thursday night, and had it pretty much gutted by Friday afternoon.

tax value on the property is about $57,000. I payed $24,000 for it.
It is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath sitting on a little more that a half acre with a 20x28 building.
I have some pictures of how it looked before i started the demo on it..

all new flooring all new drywall appliances cabinets, bathrooms. will be done hopefully first week of December. I will add new pictures after we get different stages done.

That's pretty nice looking from the start, most of the forecloseures I have looked at are dumps and former crack dens.

Looks like that place will spiff right up. How much property did you get and where do you plan on putting the shooting range?

Wood shop looks pretty cool, kinda weird that it is up on blocks, frikken cool that it is powered though. Just need an old couch, beer fridge....wait a minute, is that A/c hanging off the front of it?....coooool...you got yourself a supreme "doghouse"...

the front by the steps is washed out, that was from a few years with out gutters. i will be filling it in more next spring.

there is a little over a 1/2 acre. There is already a shooting range right next to the property that a friend of mine owns. It is about 133 yard and it is down in a small valley.

the building is on blocks due to the yard slopes down.
A/C already installed, but not really sure if it works. Has I think 100 amp serviced ran into it.

I figgered the blocks were because of the slope, just not something I am used to seeing, but things are different up here with the freezing and stuff like that. Cool deal on the nearby range. Are you doing the remodel yourself? The house looks like it is begging for a huge deck.

I am jealous of the shop....I have one, but unfortunately it is also the garage and the wife has this incredible urge to park her rig in there and I can seem to make her see that my tinkering is of greater importance than her car being toasty warm.

Looks like you got a great deal. I can't wait to see the progress pics.

Heck, the former owners even left some of the appliances. Hopefully they did not dump a dead body in the septic system.

Tear out the carpet, new paint, an industrial cleaning job, and your are good to go

all new appliances have been order, new cabinets.

we started the gutting Thursday night and new subfloor down, new doors up.
block ton down for repair.

friends installing new motion light

drywallers should start this coming weekend.

this is part of the kitchen, they where chain smokers.

it wasn't from cooking if you look at where the cabinets where and not.

dogs and cats we had to repair the sub floor. so we fix the floor and recovered it all.
But it was all nasty.

Had Sears come by today and give me a quote for new windows, They wanted almost $8500 dollars for 9 windows installed. I about fell over think i can do all of them for about $1500.

found someone who will put them in for $60 a window.

may have to put off most of them except the fout front window, three of them a broken.

Check out your local "Window World" or some such. The guys here will replace any window with a vinyl double hung, tilt-in to clean, for $90 installed per window. We use them here and are very happy. I pay a little more for upgraded glass and additional outside trim work. I've done my own replacement windows and will never do them myself again.

When I first bought my 50 year old house, I almost got suckered by home show window guys.
They came out for a quote and came up with a number of 33K!! (but 10% off if I signed a contract that night) I told him to get out and nearly threw him out. I have a view home with really big windows, but that's just not right.

Hopefully I'll get the windows swapped out this year. my biggest windows at 6X9 and two are 6X7

the second coat of mud went on the walls today. They should be done this weekend and primer and painting time will start.

Forgot that all of the brush clearing took about 3 days and gave ma about 20 feet wide and 100 feet long more yard.on the front side.

On the side of the house I gained about 10 feet by 50 feet of yard.

The brush covered i don't know how many years worth of trash. Found a old mount dew glass bottle still full of Mt Dew.

Got it all cleaned up and buried it. In and area that is not usable. But it was all done by Hand It would of been about 2 pick up trucks full and still have one more area that would be about another truck load.

The brush would of filled at least 3 full size dump trucks. Still have one more brush pile.To move and buried. We have a burning ban right know or it all would been burnt.

Looking good. The color choice is very nice.

I'd consider putting a real deck on the back. Those trailer steps make it look like what it is....a trailer.

I'm real good at spending other people's money!!

Looks like you are doing things right otherwise. I hate the panelling in most homes like you have. Since you have gotten rid of it, the dry wall looks good.

I will have more pictures tomorrow after we clean it up some.
Put vinyl in bathrooms and laundry room.
Got all the interior doors in.
Base board started to go down.
bathroom cabinets in.
Have to get a new bath faucet since the one i bought wouldn't fit because had to change the drain around some so it would fit.

It is a pain in the ass to find mobile home parts at home depot and lowes. Have to figure out ways to get real house stuff to fit. Mainly plumbing supplies.

Had to cut an inch of every door and casing then mill the cut piece off so it would fit in the bottom of the doors and reattached it.

Going Monday to check on a butcher block counter top.
12 ft long, hopefully they still have it.
