A fellow ink slinger, I thought I was alone. I'm currently the foreman at a small local Newspaper. I have done mostly commercial work during my career and actually prefer that to to running bird cage liner. I mostly fix the press I run now, as it is a little older than I am and was never really taken care of. Oh, and I too know the porn. |

I'm a network engineer by trade. I doubt my services will be of much use, but I've run lots and lots of cable in my day and can certainly help with any DIY home networking projects.
A future project I've got coming up is running Cat5 to every room in my new (to me) house. I'll definitely start a thread on that one in case anyone else has any such plans in the future. I'm looking at 21 new outlets with 6 jacks each and approximately 4,000 feet of Cat5. Once the wiring and termination is done, I might also post my "how-to" guide on installing and configuring an enterprise-class wireless access point in a house, and how to install a network rack or cabinet (haven't decided yet) and install network equipment into it. -James |

Commercial construction estimator and project manager.
If you wanna build it, I can give you good ballpark guesstimates (commercial that is). The price of steel will very likely increase by over 40% by the third quarter and construction is already ridiculously slow.... |

I'm not officially in the trades yet, but I'm going to school to be a machinist/welder. Took 2 years of Machine Shop in high school, and I'm in my 3rd year of college at Ivy Tech in Indianapolis (not going for a degree. Just taking machining and welding classes). I also took a year of welding, and 4 years of Shop class. I'm a pretty good machinist, and I can do just about any type of welding, short of TIG, which I'll be learning this semester.
