I really need to get my work area together on the cheap, and the first step is going to be a decent cheap horizontal gun cleaning/maintenance rack for my tabletop. I plan on making it out of scrapwood that I have around. It doesnt need to be a vise, just something to hold a rifle while I buff it out or clean the barrel.

I'm sure someone here has experience with this but I couldnt find anything on the search, so post your ideas!

I did this.  Will get a pic later.  holds the gun level with the stock resting on the short side.

What ever happened to that dude that had the plastic AR stand that had the base that was a parts tray kinda thingy??
