I got these two pieces of wenge that I want to make into a bar and one has some pretty unsightly water stains I'd like to get rid of. Is there anyways besides sanding to get rid of the stains? The stains don't follow the grain..

I can't tell what the stain is but I've had good luck removing water spots and other stains with oxalic acid.
