I'm trying to figure out the best way to replace a defective right angle stop at a friends water closet.  The existing valve is the old style with a cone washer.  The old polybutylene pipe is only visible for 1.5" before it enters the compression nut.  Any thoughts on the best method/s so we don't have to open the wall cavity?

Maybe a Sharkbite?

If this is an ordinary house I would have absolutely NO qualms about making a big old opening in the wall and putting one of the click in place 8x8 covers over it.

Viega makes a PB-Pex coupling that works with their pex tool

But honestly, I'd open the wall.

Thanks guys.

This is one of those times that I regret giving away a 5 gallon bucket of the old fittings.  Had sweat adapters, drop ear els etc..
