hey guys, wanting to add a heat gun to my tool collection as im wanting to get into kydex and leather work, I also occasionally do car audio work but im mostly retired from car audio stuff unless its for myself or for a mechanic friend. I would like variable output since different items, IE kydex, leather, heatshrink and abs plastic tolerate heat levels differently. its an occasional use item so I don't need the best on the market since it will sit in the toolbox most of the time, but ive been thru 2 of the harbor freight types so something better than those.

The MasterCraft one works pretty well.

I have a Milwaukee that I use occasionally. It works well. Has two temp settings.

A lot of times I'll head over to Amazon for detailed customer reviews.

I've got a Porter Cable - it did NOT come with the nozzles. I ordered those for 10 bucks on amazon ( 15 with shipping ).

I also got mine for multiple uses, including Kydex / thermoplastic.

I found the Wagner HT3500 for 40 on Walmart online. Digital controlled, 12 heat settings and cool down function. So with my walmart savings catcher balance my out of pocket will be 89 cents plus tax

edit: ended up being 2.11 cents for the heat gun with free shipping from walmart

The temp adjustment on the blow dryer style ones takes care of that.

Depends if you need bells & whistles or not.

I don't need bells & whistles so my heat-gun is a plain high/low Black Friday special that cost $9.99...
