Wow, got me beat. Started renovating a bathroom in November 2012...still haven't gotten past removing the tiles.

What tile have you guys that have done this used?
How did you seal/waterproof it? |

Quoted: What tile have you guys that have done this used? How did you seal/waterproof it? View Quote Just basic stuff from Lowe's for mine, with the waterproofing they recommended. IIRC, it was a spray-on and I know the grout sealer was. Are you planning to do a shelf in the shower? Well worth the trouble to install. Check out the one Twisted10 did again, (and I posted a pic in his thread. Generic beige on the floor.). |

getting there! Expensive little bucket! I meant to tell you to buy it when Menards had there 11% off sale. Home Depot matches the sale with either an instant discount or an instant gift card, no mailing it in!

I dont see redgard at my Menards store
It is expensive though. I did not achieve the 30 mil thickness with the small bucket though |
|
What i said was that anytime Menards runs the 11% off sale, you can go to Home depot and they will match the promotion, store wide. Instead of having to wait for a mail in rebate, they will give you the discount on the transaction or immediately give you a gift card worth 11% of your purchase.
One store gives me the discount immediately, the other gives me a gift card! And it stacks on top of any other sale they are having. |

Got the ceiling textured today
Going to primer and paint everything tomorrow and hopefully pick up some tile and maybe get started on that depending on the paint. |

If your walls are square, I would take it to the cieling. If not, leave some space.

Looking good. I'm hopefully buying a house in the next 60 days, and the bathroom is very dated, (70's), so I will probably be remodeling it within a year or so.

if my internet picture measuring is right it looks like your showerhead will fall just a few inches above a tile
personally I would end the tile under the showerhead versus having the showerhead coming out the bottom few inches of a 12" tile its one of those things that makes OCD people cry |
