Offhand I know SnapOn still makes them here but be prepared to shell out the $$ for them.  The cheapest one starts out at $1300.

http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item.asp?P65=&tool=shop&item_ID=68270&group_ID=13098&store=snapon-store&dir=catalog

Beat by a minute.

ETA:  I think Bel Aire still makes theirs here but you'd probably want to double-check.

Well, assuming BelAire is still made in the USA, you can pick up a new one for around $600.

I'd rather cry once up front than cry many times later on after the cheap chinese shit has broken down.

here's my review from back in 2007 when i bought it. http://www.eatoncompressor.com/board/board_topic/1099030/227202.htm

Ingersoll Rand makes some very good compressors if you pick from their industrial line up. I can't say for sure where they are currently made, but they are damn good units.  They are rated very well, often under rated for duty cycle and scfm.

Sorry to say, the Eatons are an off-shore pump. http://www.eatoncompressor.com/eatoncompressor.html

I think even Quincy moved to off-shore pumps on the lower end. Either way, go for a low speed pump, your ears will thank you.

edit to add, I just bought this model to replace a very tired quincy. http://www.fscurtis.com/store/?t=&hp=&id=2  Sadly, I think pretty much just the tank is USA made. Don't let the stickers on any compressor fool you. (see Eatons' 'explanation' above)

If you can find one locally, try to get a discount. Most compressors with free shipping obviously have the shipping worked into the price. I saved 200$ by picking mine up.

Poor quality recycled metals corrode horribly.

Most people don't understand that Chinese stuff can be made to the exact same tolerances as the worlds best. And, for a time, it will function perfectly. But, 50 years down the road, it will have reverted back to it's original state, iron oxide (powdered rust).

I have an American cast iron vice from the 30's. It's rust free after 80 years! My Chinese lathe rusts like crazy under the grease and oil. It's impossible to keep it under control.

Compressor is made in China.

Quincy, Champion, Saylor-Beale made in USA.  Quincy and Champion are easy to find at northerntool.com and tptools.com  With Quincy, even the motors are USA made Baldor.

I am not sure if Sanborn Air Compressors are still in business. They were made in Springfield Minnesota.
