Watched it lastnight. Good flick despite Emily Blunt, thought she was going to renounce her citizenship.

Should have just said, "This movie is based on real events" and "coming to your hometown"

I didn't think Emily Blunt's character was all that bad, she was simply foil to highlight Del Toro's character.

I hope the sequel actually gets put into production which will be all about Del Toro.

Am I the only one who was bored to death through it ? The shoot out scene in the traffic jam was cool but it did not keep my attention.
It reminded me of "Traffic" which, ironically is on right now, so I'm watching it to see if it's better the second time around like 15 years later

Nope.  It was good but thought the hype exceeded the movie itself.  Definitely not a full price ticket.  Found myself checking time left a few times too.

I liked it.  The acting and dialog was good, and understated.  The cinematography and music combined for a serious and tense "mood".  Benicio Del Toro's character was a badass, without being over-the-top.

Only down sides for me were that it was a little draggy in spots and the bar/cop scene didn't make a lot of sense to me.

Can't make the spoiler thingy work, so I'll leave it at that.

Having worked with Border Patrol in El Paso area back in the mid 1980's, I enjoyed this movie. You say there is a sequel planned? Where did you hear about this? I will definitely look forward to one. But, I never heard or read about any sequel being filmed.

SPOILER ALERT:

The bar scene was to give the crooked cop a chance to meet the FBI agents (one which he already knew) to try and get intel for the cartel that he was working for. Del Toro's character tells Blunt's character that the crooked cop didn't intend to try and kill her. He was sent there to try and get intel from her.

Her point was to be the moral high ground.  Good movie despite that.

Yeah... which is dumb. I guess because she was pushed into it she should have been left behind from the start.
There are certain jobs where you need to check your morality at the door.

Cool flick. I'd watch it again.
