Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - 16:10-only projector, any devices that would fix a stretched 16:9 image?

Recently got a Viewsonic PJD6531w projector for a great price, but it only does 16:10 or 4:3 aspect ratios and will stretch a 1080 signal from my Directv box to fit.  Is there some sort of external device that would output a 16:9 image letterboxed to fit a 16:10 screen?  I know I could feed it through the computer but I would prefer not to boot up a computer every time I want to watch TV.
