I went and saw this Thursday. I have to say I thought it was pretty good. Granted there was a couple corny parts in it, but I thought it was decent. Looking at my Netflix queue, I added the original Oldboy back in February, so I bumped it up to next on the list. Not bad for a Spike Lee film, but considering he just copied an original explains this. The only other film he has done that I liked was "Inside Man".

From the reviews I've read it's basically the same as the original. So if you saw and liked the original, there's really no reason to watch it again unless you want to see it without subtitles.

Okay, I got the point. I watched it On Demand, and it sucked compared to the original. There was nothing unique to it, and I didn't find Brolin's character as sympathetic as I did with Choi in the original. I actually fell asleep once. Spike Lee's could fuck up a girl on girl porn with Angelina Jolie & Jennifer Aniston in it, which basically means he's a talentless hack.

Just watched the remake and damn...That's one twisted, messed up flick. It left me feeling really weird and disturbed, kind of like after I watched Se7en for the first time.
I don't care for Josh Brolin, but he did a good job.
Seriously, I liked it, but what a messed up show!?

I loved the original. I am not going to see the American remake of LaFemme Nikita either.

Spike Lee, also I believe, fits the bill of a racist, so I won't support him.
