Just got a new ps3 and was wondering if you guys had any recommendations for HDMI cables. I have an average 42" Flatscreen tv.. just looking for advice here.

Thanks in advance.

+1 for Monoprice. And not just for cables only too.

Get the cheapest thing you can find. HDMI cables either work or they don't. Don't spend $70 on a set of "gold" cables. It's a digital signal and the gold fittings will not help in the slightest.

All of my HDMI cables are Monoprice as well as a 4 in / 2 out HDMI matrix switch box. Great quality and even better customer service.

The super expensive cables only help when you're doing a long cable run. Like the other replies in the thread said, just get an inexpensive one from monoprice or someplace else.

The only time you might want to consider dropping big bucks on HDMI cables is if it's going to be a long run. For a short cable from your PS to the TV (I'm assuming all the equipment is located in the same place), just go with an affordable, reliable cable.
You have the right to be offended.

I think I got a 3pk of 6' cables for something like 10-15 bucks from buy.com

Expensive HDMI (et al) cables are for generally for suckers. I'm looking at you, Monster.

Yes, going from analog vodeo to HDMI would be a HUGE improvement.

Amazon.com has a bunch of options too.

I buy several at a time and re-sell them (or give them away, depending) to people that need them.

Lots and lots of people have bought into the "expensive cable is needed" bullshit.

You couldn't be more wrong, but I know better than to waste my time trying to explain it... No offense.

That said, the Amazon Basics cables are great for the price and I use a couple of them currently. $8-10ea shipped IIRC.

Here we go again...

I remember reading a review comparing various cable brands. One option in the testing was to use a coat hanger. It performed as well as some of the high performance, err, ... I mean, high cost cables.

No, no, no let's not go there this time.
