THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT It's a great excuse to get adventure/fairly hard Sci-Fi on the big screen. I think there's a place for a sequel. Of course I just checked the stats - it cost $80mil to make but took in only about $70mil, oops. Foreign ticket sales make up for it but woopsie. They clearly thought they had a big money maker and didn't. |

I enjoyed it more than I thought I would, but that isn't really saying much.

<shrug> I didn't think it was awful, but it just wasn't great, either.
I remember thinking it would be far worst a movie than it was. |

i liked it, but it was so different from the show that i think is where they missed out.
I think the new Star Trek did good, they started with a entire younger cast, while this pissed off die hard fans, it made it so that a entire new generation of fans could possibly get attached to the characters and somewhat please the longtime star trek fans. having 2 spocks was great to. I know some women who liked it, who had disliked star trek before. I think that might have been the problem lost in space had. anyway good sci-fi movies are few and far between lately. |

Lacey Chabert is the only reason I liked the movie.

One thing I'd like them to do is fix the SFX. Nothing more than updating it. The movie was top of the line for the time, but in the ensuing years a good desktop computer can do better SFX than some of the shots, particularly the Blawp character.

I used to be in love with Lacey Chabert. She was actually my first crush. I was in High School when the movie came out and before it hit theaters the cast was doing interviews on the big networks. One morning I was getting ready for school and I saw on the news that there was an upcoming segment with an interview of Lacey, I freaking dropped to my knees and feigned a terrible stomach ache right then and there. After my parents fruitless attempts to convince me to admit I was a faker, they left for work and I anxiously waited nearly an hour for a 15 second clip. It was over that fast and I was bored until Animaniacs came on.

It was good until they crashed on the planet. Then it got lame. Except for the doc turning into a man-spider thingy. That was pretty cool.
