Manhattan Season Finale.

Anyone else like that show?

I am a sucker for WWII stuff.

It was a bit to much a soap opera, but, it was about the bomb that probably saved 100000+ U.S. lives and maybe Millions of Japanese lives

I enjoyed Sicario, it met my expectations.  PA was okay.  I was underwhelmed by Extraction.

Mr Dynamite: The Rise of James Brown
It was OK. Not Great.  Focused on his rise out of crushing poverty.  His invention of funk and his contribution, good and bad, to black civil rights.
His drug addiction and domestic violence towards women was glossed over or left out all together.
It's good for what it covers but it left out a lot.

Kingsman, The Secret Service
Great movie.  Highly recommended.

Maggie

a very realistic zombie film - if there is such a thing.

Arnold Schwarzenegger stars as a father of a teen daughter that gets infected and has to deal with her transformation
(the infected take ~ 8 weeks to turn)

it's a pretty good drama

Avengers: Age of Ultron

the latest Avengers movie, where the superheroes are trying to stop a powerful robot/ android from destroying the human race.

I liked Age of Ultron better than the first Avengers movie.

The Hateful Eight on New Years Eve in Las Vegas.

Gory, fun, and typical of Tarantino.

A few interesting twists, and a warning, it is a bit long....but, a great film.

I think Tarantino may be a bit obsessed with racism though, considering this one and Django. But, I'll still go see his films.

A couple of good death scenes ...oops almost gave away a spoiler....but, just a gory non-shooting death or two that were interestingly done.

Beyond the Reach

a super rich d-bag hires a hunting guide to hunt bighorn sheep in the desert southwest.
an accidental killing happens and the trophy hunter ends up hunting the guide.

it was only so-so

stars Michael Douglas and a cool six wheeled Mercedes 4X4, (maybe a 6x6?)

Mockingjay pt.2. Good up until the end, then it got really slow. Over Christmas I saw Jack Reacher for the first time and really liked it. So much so that I ordered the DVD. Maybe it was because I was lusting after Rosamund Pike the whole movie.

the latest Fantastic Four

I really liked the comic book when I was a kid, but this retelling of the origin of the superhero group is different from the original story.

it was better than the first try (w/ Jessica Alba, didn't care for her as a blonde) but that was 10 years ago
never saw the Rise of the  Silver Surfer

the special effects were good, but overall it was meh

Star Wars: The Force Awakens

I'm a big fan of the original Star Wars trilogy, so this was a no brainer
I really liked it a lot,
saw it in IMAX 3D and I will probably go see it again before it's out of the theaters (this time in 2D)

This movie is about atmosphere.  There is a plot, but the writing, dialog and the atmosphere makes this a great movie.
Especially if you remember 1970.  If you remember 1970 you'll like this movie.
