6 Days.(2017)

Day by day telling of the 1980 terrorist takeover of the Iranian embassy in London.

This event put both the SAS and the MP5 on the path to legend.

Well done suspense movie illustrating the negotiation and planning up until the assault.

Worth a rent on Amazon.

Barbecue documentary on Netflix. It basically explores how different cultures BBQ, and what it means to them. If you don't like to read and watch tv, then you shouldn't probably check this out. There is a quiet a bit of subtitles in it.

La Grande Illusion - 1937

From Wikipedia:
"La Grande Illusion (also known as Grand Illusion) is a 1937 French war film directed by Jean Renoir, who co-wrote the screenplay with Charles Spaak. The story concerns class relationships among a small group of French officers who are prisoners of war during World War I and are plotting an escape. The title of the film comes from the book The Great Illusion by British journalist Norman Angell, which argued that war is futile because of the common economic interests of all European nations. The perspective of the film is generously humanistic to its characters of various nationalities.

La Grande Illusion is regarded by critics and film historians as one of the masterpieces of French cinema and among the greatest films ever made. Orson Welles named La Grande Illusion as one of the two movies he would take with him "on the ark."  Empire magazine ranked it #35 in "The 100 Best Films Of World Cinema" in 2010."

A fine movie.  Well worth a look.

Saw the re-release of Star Trek II Wrath of Khan at the theatre today.
Haven't seen it on the big screen since its original theatrical run in 1982.

How'd it look?  Did Paramount restore it?
Might be worth getting out of the basement for a few hours.

Looked good, decent print. Not sure how much restoration they did to the print.
Certainly no upgrade to special effects like they did when they upgraded the computer generated graphics of TNG
Those early 80s physical models of the ships still hold up to the passage of time.

The movie itself holds up.  Star Trek at it's finest.

Yes it does.
And to think that it almost didn't get made.
Other than the cheesy 1980s take on 23rd  century wardrobe, the most unsettling part of sitting there was realizing how many of the actors on the screen are now dead.

It

I didn't think the story was too scary, there were some good spooky parts and the usual
scenes to startle you, make you jump.

It was good.

They had to fight to get it made, and were given a budget that was a fraction of the first movie.
