The Novus Ordo "tables" really ruin the otherwise beautiful architecture.....

The history is even more cool. The one in Vienna is 700 years old and has over 18000 people buried in the bottom including the Emperor and his family.

a way bit off topic, but I can't resist! especially you asking about churches.

want to see a very unique church? it's La Sagrada Familia, started in 1882 in Barcelona, Spain, and is still not through building yet! at first I was aghast--appalled really--but the more I look at it, the more I'm impressed by it. before I leave my pilgrim journey here and return home, I've got to visit it!

form your own opinion!

Been inside the Cathedral in Bonn (Cologne), Germany. Sorry no pics. Amazing to still see evidence of WWII bombing on the outside.  Thanks for posting the Basilica in Montreal too, never made it inside but great part of the city to walk around if you ever get the chance.

Here's one I took near the Shenandoah National Park.  It's a little country church tucked back in one of the mountain communities.  Some of the window panes are still the original wavy glass from back in the day.  Attachment Attached File

Some of the most beautiful architecture on this planet are the churches. I'm always fascinated by the talent that the builders possessed. It is humbling to realize the skill that those artisans possessed, hundreds of years ago, in many cases.

My 9 year old son loves old churches, missions, etc. He studies them on Google Earth and builds them in Minecraft. Sagrada Famila, Sceplica, etc. I like it as well. One dayI will be able to take him on a tour maybe.
