Are you a fool for believing in God? No.

Should you expect the world to treat you like a fool for believing in God? Yes.

You are certainly a fool, but not for your belief in God.

I am, without a doubt, one of THE biggest fools that ever walked this earth.

I am also a record-setting sinner with no hope of reform on my own. I know that all my best works, added up, still are filth to God and my only salvation is His son Jesus Christ.

...and I also think this is the biggest part of the plan, that God would create me with the ability to question even His own existence.

I just look in the mirror as the lines on my face get clearer and my eyes cloud with age and ask myself, "Am I a fool for believing."

You would be a fool if you didn't believe in God. Why don't you go outside and look around at all the flora, fauna, stars, the millions of individual life forms, the wind, the oceans, all that God made and ask yourself that question. It should answer it for you.

No, you are not a fool.

what exactly ARE you to believe in? money, power, greed, authority, gold, silver, yet more firearms and ammo...these do not last; they are physical and earthly.

You seek and cling to eternity--the infinite--which is part of the transcendent spiritual world.

Be a fool for Christ!

So, if I am a fool for Christ,

The next question is, Who's fool are you?

As Bob Dylan sang,       http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/bobdylan/gottaservesomebody.html

"Gotta Serve Somebody"

You may be an ambassador to England or France
You may like to gamble, you might like to dance
You may be the heavyweight champion of the world
You may be a socialite with a long string of pearls.

But you're gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed
You're gonna have to serve somebody,
It may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you're gonna have to serve somebody.

The preaching of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing but
to us who are being saved it is the POWER, ( dunamis>dynamic>miraculous>strength>life changing), POWER of God. 1 Cor.

As a dyslexic, agnostic, insomniac, I spend a lot of long nights wondering if there really is a Dog.

I would NEVER challenge someone's belief in God, and I ask the same from them.

Yes, and that's a good thing:

26 For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called.

27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;

28 and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are,

29 that no flesh should glory in His presence.

30 But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption—

31 that, as it is written, "He who glories, let him glory in the Lord.”

BTW, the Greek for foolish in v.27 is the word moros, where we get the word moron.

So you believe in God, but do you believe that Christ is the Son of God in the flesh, who died on the cross and rose from the dead as an atonement for your sins, that by simply believing in Him and His work, you are given eternal life?

Just scored a new Bible yesterday and found this quote in it.

He is no fool who gives up that which he cannot
keep in order to gain that which he cannot loose.

Psalm 14v1
The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.”
They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds,
there is none who does good.

If a fool says there is no God, and you say there is, can't be a fool for saying there is.

Being atheist, I can't say you are a fool. In my eyes, dismissing the bad aspects of religions, there are very inspiring stories and important life lessons which come from every religion.
Socially, religion is an outlet for the woes of a community, and a support system for those that need help. It serves an important role in our instinctive need to be among others.

It would be foolish to say all of the above is not the case with religion, because it denies the history of mankind, as well as the social importance it has had in the past.

So, believe. And if you feel so inclined, be curious of the variety of religions. Because curiosity, above all else, is the essence of the human adventure.

This is key.    Also is it really a belief in God or His Son that is of more importance?    Think about the "Anti-Christ".....that's not necessarily anti-God but anti Jesus/Cross, etc thus the term Anti-Christ.   Many people believe in God or a god but far less in His Son.
