I have no excuses. Just gotta do it. It's funny what we take seriously and what we blow off, whether intended or not. I'm...dare I say, religious...about getting to (Saturday night or) Sunday Mass, and making sure my wife and kids get there. I'm already trying to figure out the logistics of this weekend because we are traveling several hours Fri night, won;t be back until sometime Sunday afternoon, and I'm not driving so I have no control over getting us anywhere while out of town. I know traveling is what it is, but I don't like using that as an excuse. The flip side is I'm sure I'm off base on some things that you are more on top of. |

I dropped the ball and haven't come up with anything to give up for lent but now I've found it. I'm a little late, but just closed my one EE listing and I'm out. See y'all on Easter!

I'm pretty sure that the word Sunday came after the New Testament. And they were celebrating on the first day of the week there. So if the word came from pagans or not doesn't matter. I'm positive tht the names of planets came from gods. Doesn't men the planets are owned by tht religion. It might also be illuminating to read some of the early Church fathers. The letters of Ignatius of Antioch, dating to the first century after the crucifixion, discuss that it was the apostles themselves who shifted the day or worship to Sunday in order to commerorate the resurrection. |
